      Today we had "Easter".

Afternoon, commanded, we hurried to the grass began to search for the so-called "white rabbit hid eggs".

The classmates scattered on the mound, bushes and trees found in large white egg. I come not the empty place of the classmate, pretend to be experienced in underground hard groping in the bushes, really didn't expect unexpectedly touched a. That's great! Continue to work hard! I didn't hope hope game are picked up. I looked at the nearby nothing, except a little yellow things... Is this not the legendary, the only real eggs, if you get it, I'm a lucky dog! This is can eat... When I was flattered to eggs have already did not have a shadow. Good sad! Me is so close to the egg, but I let it!

However, I went to adjust the mood, ready to continue to look for. Through bushes, guessing, feel the grass under the tree... Where there is no. Well there is no doubt that road, scenes and village. I was in the grass between the road and found another egg. That's great! The second! Right away, time is up, pick up two I have is "egg hunt hero!"

I am very happy, although I lost an egg, but also got two eggs. , you will lose it, too!

In England Germany and some other countries, children rolled eggs down hills on Easter morning, a game which has been connected to the rolling away of the rock from Jesus Christ's tomb when he was resurrected. British settlers brought this custom to the New World.

In the United States in the early nineteenth century, Dolly Madison, the wife of the fourth American President, organized an egg roll in Washington, D.C. She had been told that Egyptian children used to roll eggs against the pyramids so she invited the children of Washington to roll hard-boiled eggs down the hilly lawn of the new Capitol building! The custom continued, except for the years during the Civil War. In 1880, the First Lady invited children to the White House for the Egg Roll because officials had complained that they were ruining the Capitol lawn. It has been held there ever since then, only canceled during times of war. The event has grown, and today Easter Monday is the only day of the year when tourists are allowed to wander over the White House lawn. The wife of the President sponsors it for the children of the entire country. The egg rolling event is open to children twelve years old and under. Adults are allowed only when accompanied by children!

easter is celebrated on the weekend after the first full moon that follows march 21. that means in some years it‘s in late march, and other years in april. the word easter comes from the old english name for the saxon1 goddess of dawn called eostre. she was worshipped(敬奉) in the spring. in canada, the easter season is also a time for celebrating the rebirth of nature. the long cold winter is beginning to melt into(融合) spring.

while all canadians celebrate the return of the warm weather, there is another meaning to easter. christians rejoice2 because they believe that jesus christ rose from the dead on easter sunday three days after he was crucified(钉十字架上处死) on good friday. to celebrate the miracle3 of his resurrection(复活), they attend churches filled with candles and white lilies (百合花) on easter sunday. the lilies symbolize (象征) hope and rebirth. a lot of communities (社会) have easter parades (), some religious, others with brightly decorated floats(彩车), costumes4 and hats.

Easter is a religious holiday that commemorates the resurrection of Jesus Christ three days after his death by crucifixion some 2,000 years ago. For Christians, Easter is a day of religious services and the gathering of family.

The genesis of Easter was rooted in pagan gods that were worshiped prior to Canada's existence; but for Canada, Easter began and continues to be celebrated as a Christian event.

In many churches Easter is preceded by a season of prayer, abstinence, and fasting called Lent. This is observed in memory of the 40 days‘ fast of Christ in the desert. In Eastern Orthodox churches Lent is 50 days. In Western Christendom Lent is observed for six weeks and four days.

Prior to A.D. 325, Easter was variously celebrated on different days of the week, including Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. In that year, the Council of Nicaea was convened by emperor Constantine. It issued the Easter Rule which states that Easter shall be celebrated on the first Sunday that occurs after the first full moon on or after the vernal equinox. However, a caveat must be introduced here. The "full moon" in the rule is the ecclesiastical full moon, which is defined as the fourteenth day of a tabular lunation, where day 1 corresponds to the ecclesiastical New Moon. It does not always occur on the same date as the astronomical full moon. The ecclesiastical "vernal equinox" is always on March 21. Therefore, Easter must be celebrated on a Sunday between the dates of March 22 and April 25.
